Introduction of New School Liaison Officer

I would just like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Brandy Wyatt and I will be your new School Liaison Officer (SLO). I just arrived at Ellsworth AFB from RAF Lakenheath, England, where I served as the Youth Center Director for five years.

I have extensive experience in the education field, having been a public school educator in Oklahoma prior to our move to England. I earned my Master’s Degree in Education with a focus in School Law, my Master’s in Business Administration, and am about 9 months away from completing my PhD in Education with a focus in Organizational Leadership.

I am excited to be here and I look forward to serving you in my new role and working to improve the transitional support for the school age children of Ellsworth AFB. In order to accomplish this mission, I believe that the establishment of long-lasting partnerships between local school administrators and base leadership is vital. Additionally, advocating for the needs of military children, increasing awareness of the unique needs of military children, and providing a process to address and resolve any issues related to military children, are also critical.

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns about military child education throughout Ellsworth Air Force Base and the surrounding communities at 605-385-1381, DSN 675-1381 or at 28FSS.FSF.SLO@us.af.mil.

Mandatory Douglas High School Soccer Meeting – 29 June

ATTENTION Douglas High School students playing high school soccer this next school year:

There is a mandatory meeting next Monday, June 29th at 6:30pm in the Douglas High School library. Parents are also requested to attend.

They will be fitting for uniforms on this day so that they can get them ordered.  If you would like a specific number you will need to attend this meeting!

Fees for playing this high school season will be approximately $75.  This fee will include paying for your uniform which will be yours.

They will also be discussing upcoming fundraising and will possibly be electing student officers for the sport.

The scheduled games are mostly local but there are also games scheduled in Hot Springs, Belle Fourche, Sioux Falls and the possibility of Aberdeen.  They wish to discuss with parents about those that are willing to drive which may include other players and feelings on being reimbursed or not for that travel.
