Douglas School District went into lock-down this morning. The Box Elder Police Department and Pennington County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a suspicious… individual who was possibly seen on the grounds of Vandenberg Elementary School. It is district procedure to lock down the whole district if it becomes necessary to do so in any one of the buildings. There was never a concern about a threat inside any of the district buildings. After conducting multiple, intensive searches of the district grounds, no person matching the description of the individual was found. District buildings were cleared by Box Elder and Pennington County Law Enforcement—all students and staff are safe and learning activities have resumed across the district.
REMINDER: Tomorrow, 6 April, is Early Release for both Douglas and Rapid City Schools!!!
